This fall, North Country residents will have a more convenient option for getting preventive health care, including immunizations, glucose screenings, and some medical services.
The New Hampshire Medical Society and North Country Health Consortium are partnering to launch theNorthern New Hampshire Mobile Health Clinic, which will provide care via a van. The vehicle will also provide patients an internet connection to facilitate telehealth visits with their provider.
As they prepare to launch the program, the agencies are seeking input from community members and partner organizations about health disparities across the region, said Lauren Pearson, executive director of the North Country Health Consortium, in a statement.
“This will help us identify specific locations for the Mobile Health Clinic and determine services that meet local needs and help increase access to quality health care for all,” she said.
The program will begin with $1.1 million provided by Point32Health Foundation, the federal Department of Agriculture Rural Development, four North Country hospitals, NH Charitable Foundation, the state Department of Health and Human Services, and Fidelity Investments.
North County organizations that want to provide input on services or learn more about the initiative can contact Annette Cole at the North Country Health Consortium at [email protected] or 603-259-3700, extension 241.
